General info[]

As with any usual Minecraft server, Purity Vanilla has several portals to the End scattered around the overworld.

Players often leave their own mark in the End Portal chambers of strongholds through the usage of signs informing others of their visits, or the placement and destruction of blocks.

Many bases have been built around end portals however their longevity is never long lasting. Due to the fact that there were many seed changes and chunk reloads, abnormalities mean that there are more end portals on Purity than on a regular vanilla world. End portals surrounding areas of spawn region are nearly always completely decimated, with towering casts and waterlogged structures making the job of locating the portal itself hard, however the portal itself if always there due to the rule making the destruction/removal of end portals themselves bannable.

One commonly known Purity stronghold is the one near to spawn at -1990 32 -266, which has been thoroughly explored and mined out: a lavacasted tower amidst the large greater spawn ocean.

A list of all documented End Portals can be found here.

noob_24's list[]

Coords-0

Approximate coords, calculated by noob_24

Using his "superior engineering skills", player noob_24 calculated the approximate location of 38 out of the world's total 128 strongholds, with an accuracy of 200-2000 blocks. These locations were written here on the wiki for the public to use, making the end more accessible, but he stated that players have to keep in mind that due to seed changes many of these locations may not have strongholds. These have been left up for historical reasons, deceiving many players due to their inexactness. The locations primarily consist of last-ring strongholds approximated by assuming precise equal angles between outer-ring seed-1 strongholds located in a circle, reckoning from a single stronghold start point.

griefyoudotEXE's escapades[]

Equipped with seed 1, which could predict the precise location of stronghold start rooms, griefyoudotEXE visited a large number of existing strongholds during the summer of 2020, griefing multiple active bases at these including RobertDonald's. During these expeditions, he noted that a large number of end portals had been intentionally griefed via filling the portal room with lava. This likely happened during the seed 1 era via an unknown griefer equipped with Ender Eyes; no clear authorship signs were left.

Exact portals[]

In an attempt to correct for the inexactitude of the historical list, RobertD proposed listing exact portals. However, the tendency of anything with internet-published precise coordinates to be griefed or TNT trapped led to caution in this approach: limiting listed end portals to a few. Here is this prior list, posted to help those few people capable of scrolling down:

Seed 1 splurging[]

The methodology of finding seed 1 portals given seed was known to a number of players, and later somewhat publicized. However, for a very long time, seed 1 itself was not publicized in any authoritative source, and often intentionally mis-stated for trolling purposes. Eventually, Soosh posted the seed in an offer in the Trade Hub discord along with a statement that it could find end portals, and RobertDonald posted in this page in March 2021 the comment that those with Seed 1 could location end portals by this method.

Project Columbus[]

To allow the in-game finding of portals without publicizing their coordinates and getting their surrounding environs griefed, RobertDonald decided to mark a number of existing end portals with giant crosses in both the Nether and the Overworld and clear signs and ladders directing people to the related portal. These were primarily portals which already had significant Overworld presence, avoiding revealing some entirely hidden end portals and bases he found.

Project Marco[]

Historically, seed 1 and seed 2 were unpublished and difficult to find authoritative information on. Even with seed 2 known to a select few, sharing it or re-cracking it was discouraged by the admins.

However, the PV Tech Discord decided to buck this trend, first publishing the first seed in their tech information, then the second seed. One day, discord member and player Melwin22 out of boredom decided to search for end portals. Since first and second Purity seed were published on the discord, he started to check locations where strongholds should generate according to chunkbase, and post them in PV Tech Archive. This quickly grabbed attention of NerdieBirdie, and the two decided to find and document as many portals as possible. While exploring, Nerdie found various Project Columbus markers. After inviting more players, Nerdie decided to call this Project Marco, in reference to Robert's Columbus project. Nerdie also contacted RobertDonald regarding his advice on finding the end portals, since in some cases, these did not appear where expected even in exactly predicted seed terrain.

RobertDonald, however, was opposed to the project. After discussing the matter privately with Nerdie, he made the following public warning in the PV Tech Discord:

01-warning1

In March 2022, Project Marco published a list of 132 end portals in Purity Tech Archive discord, in #end-portal-list section. RobertDonald responded by griefing the active main bases of both of Nerdie's factions, Atlas and Mayors, with the help of Pumpkin Legion for the former and Chadlets for the latter. Post-Marco portals[]

Existence of 3rd seed portals was suggested for a long time, because some terrain within stronghold range was in fact generated with third seed. But finding them proved to be very difficult. However, after Purity updated to 1.18 in May 2022, new terrain generated beneath y=0. Player Arctyk immediately realized the possibility of new end portals appearing, and with RobertDonald, confirmed their existence, referencing this here.

In January of 2023, Melwin22 learned this information and publicized it on the Purity Vanilla Wiki among other places, posting the following image:

First publicly known portal below y = 0.

In response to the potential threat of further End Portals being leaked, RobertDonald made the following vague threat:

02-warn3

In August of 2023, NerdieBirdie would begin logging on sporadically to check for seed 3 portals after learning of seed 3's leak. Although progress was slow, he would join from time to time to scout seed 3 portals for both 1.18 and 1.19 terrain generation, as there were slight differences in End Portal generation between the versions. Additional portals discovered will be added to the existing list when completed.

Eye of Ender failures[]

The seed to Purity Vanilla has changed twice. Most strongholds and end portals were generated under the first seed, though the existence of significant second-seed terrain within end portal range may suggest some second-seed end portals exist. Thrown Eyes of Ender direct a player to where a stronghold and end portal would be under the current and third seed, which is responsible for extremely little terrain within stronghold range of spawn, and thus usually do not point to an existing stronghold.
