The Council/Aura[]

The Council (TC) was a group founded in May of 2020 by Aquamaroon and Minrat with no specific purpose in mind other than building and becoming rich. The groups most notable achievements include: accidentally finding Providus and Odysssey (a Chadlets base), providing a starting point for some of Purity's most notable players, and starting a months long fiasco which ultimately lead the group's demise.

It should also be noted that details of this story may be sketchy as the writer is attempting to recall specific events which occurred nearly 3 years ago.

Foundation[]

Not much is known about the exact formation of the faction as both the founders and earliest members have since quit Purity or been banned. What is known is that Aquamaroon, a well known pvper and builder at the time, recruited several greys into a then unnamed faction to provide them with a home and starter gear. Aquamaroon and his first recruits, Minrat and another grey whose name has been lost to time (let's call him Steve for the sake of this article), started a base inside of a chunk error approximately 14,000 blocks from spawn. This first base was humble, but contained many of the basic elements for a successful faction including various food farms and a villager breeder. About two weeks after starting the group, Aquamaroon invited Albano Kosovar, Ozymandius, and Lacksal (official) , three greys who had recently joined or returned to Purity.

The Ban, the First True Base, And Merging with Unity[]

Within a week of the recruits arriving at the base, Steve was banned for duping. Due to Steve's ban and threats to leak the base coordinates, Aquamaroon decided to abandon the base and move to a location much farther from spawn. This new base would be a much more significant undertaking and stand as a symbol for the groups resilience after receiving an embarrassing blow.

After arriving at the base and beginning construction of what would be known as a "The Quadratube", the faction decided to expand by merging with Unity, another fairly unknown faction at the time, which was created by EmeraldJaguar (EJ). Along with EJ came his basemates Tiger_try and Vibe_rater420. With these new recruits, efforts could begin in earnest to finish the massive undertaking that was the Quadratube. After the two groups officially merged, it was decided that the new faction name would be Aura.

ItzFreaks and The Death of Aura[]

A few weeks after the base construction was started, Aquamaroon stumbled upon the remains of Providus, an old base started by Junda. This was an exciting find for Aura as there were several standing farms littered around the ruins. Amidst all this progress, however, an issue which would ultimately lead to the groups demise was forming. EJ and Vibe griefed a mapart created by Junda which then prompted Freaks to grief the Quadratube for revenge. After this grief, EJ,Vibe, and Tiger were removed from the Aura which then split back into The Council. With spirits dampened, yet not destroyed the faction set out once again to start a new base, one which would last for years.

Overworld Decoy for the Mansion

A New Home and Disaster[]

After settling in to their new home, the faction decided to recruit again, this time adding ZUnidentified and KingFish94 to the faction. This new base would take the shape of a Mansion with storage and villagers inside and various farms surrounding it. The builders also created a small decoy base near the nether portal to prevent the main base from being found. Significant progress was made at the base, but unfortunately, a few mere months after its genesis, the decoy base was destroyed. It was caught in the crossfire of the Odyssey grief, and as soon as we realized it was gone, we decided to leave the Mansion, in hopes of a longer lasting base. Throughout the course of the Mansion's life, however, many members in the faction has become increasingly inactive. Aqaumaroon and Albano were effectively leaving purity and Minrat was simply logging on less and less. It was also suspected that zUni leaked the coordinates, so he was removed from the group. In an effort to prolong the faction's lifespan, Aquamaroon invited YeahItsRico and YeahItsJdog (Lil Jdog69) to lead the group in his absence. While it seemed like an ideal plan in the moment, this decision would ultimately kill the group, largely due to the input of Rico.

Rico, Various Short Lived Bases, and The End[]

Filled with dissatisfaction at the new leaders and missing the energy of the old Council, Lacksal, Kingfish, and Minrat drifted in and out of activity. A few bases which were either immediately scrapped or leaked were started and quickly abandoned. The last true Council base was Acadia Bay, a jungle tree-house based construction near the world border. By the time Acadia Bay was nearing completion, Kingfish and Minrat had all but quit and Lacksal was edging away from both the group and Purity on a whole. After months of prodding from Tarqshark, Lacksal ultimately leaked Acadia Bay to end the group's misery and allow Rico and Jdog to move onto their next failed plan, Baba Booey which was then known as The Committee.
